Abound Health was created out of necessity more than 20 years ago when founders Janet and Rusty Presson grew tired of searching for quality services for their young son diagnosed with Autism. They decided to create a Company to provide that high-quality care they were looking for themselves, and thus Abound was born. Much has changed in the past 20 years, but most importantly, our mission has not. Abound remains a place that individuals and families with special needs turn to for high-impact services and supports delivered in an environment dedicated to empowerment and care.

In New Jersey, Abound Health supports individuals in achieving greater independence, stability, and quality of life by working closely with families and Support Coordinators to provide reliable in-home and community-based services.
We offer Individual Supports, Community-Based Supports, Behavioral Supports, and Respite in 19 counties, with offices based in Wayne, Saddle Brook, Lakewood, Howell, and Mt. Laurel.

Community-Based Supports
Direct Support Professionals will provide assistance for individuals who need direct support & person-centered care in a one-to-one setting delivered in the home and community. Community-based support can include socialization and activities out and about, helping the individual achieve life skills and goals. It can also include basic self-care, social skills, and activities of daily living. The hours provided depend on the level of support required.

Individual Supports
Support for individuals who need direct support to achieve independence and inclusion. Our staff provides assistance to individuals in the activities of their choosing and helps them to achieve their planned outcomes. Some examples of individual supports are community-based activities, basic self-care, social skills, and activities of daily living. For many people with a disability, having individual support means being able to live in their own home and in the community with supports in place to allow independence. This is a very personal and individualized service that is tailored to suit your support needs and your lifestyle.

Live In Care
A cohesive team of Direct Support Professionals that provides 24/7 support to individuals delivered in a one-to-one setting. A live-in caregiver may provide services such as: preparing meals, assisting with bathing and daily hygiene routines, providing transportation to doctors' appointments and other events, offering companionship, enhancing communication skills through social engagement, and helping build community access if applicable.

Respite Care
Provides support to family caregivers to allow for a short period of rest or relief. This support can be planned in advance or in an emergency care situation. Respite care can be provided as a brief live-in situation, day shifts, or overnight shifts.

Transportation
Transportation services support individuals in safely accessing DDD-approved services and community-based activities identified in their Individualized Service Plan. This service helps individuals travel to day habilitation, employment services, medical appointments, and other approved community destinations. Transportation is delivered in accordance with NJ Division of Developmental Disabilities guidelines and is designed to promote independence, community inclusion, and consistent access to supports.
