Coordinated Specialty Care (CSC) is a multi- component, evidence-based, early intervention service for individuals experiencing a first episode of psychosis (FEP) that can improve their quality of life and social and clinical outcomes. It is an evidence-based, recovery-focused, team-based model that promotes access to care and shared decision-making among specialists, the person experiencing psychosis, and family members.
The core components of a CSC clinic are as follows (in no particular order):
• Shared decision-making framework
• Medication management
• Psychotherapy
• Case management
• Family education and support
• Peer support
• Supported employment and education
Eligibility | 1) individuals in CSC are between 15-35 years of age and have an early serious mental illness (ESMI) diagnosis for no more than approximately 2 years, with or without prior treatment and their psychosis is non-organic. 2) Individuals in CSC-CI are 15 years of age and older, with an early serious mental illness (ESMI) diagnosis that is non-organic. |
