The proportion of girls in the Juvenile Justice System has increased at every stage of the process over the last 20 years, from arrest to detention and probation.
This program will demonstrate the linkages and risks of substance abuse and disabilities. The intent of these trainings, funded with support from the Division of Mental Health & Addiction Services, DMHAS, is to increase the awareness of people in recovery or treatment to the risk factors for substance abuse among those with disabilities and to reduce barriers to those in need of treatment services.
